Avnet announces the launch of Education Services in Asia Pacific, appoints Michael Costigan to drive success of its 6th strategic business unit

Strategic business unit to help deepen technical expertise of partners in high-growth areas, and enable them to optimise IT assets and achieve better business outcomes
 
SINGAPORE, 05 September 2016 – Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced the launch of Education Services in Asia Pacific. The newly formed strategic business unit (SBU) will offer flexible training and enablement services and solutions to Avnet’s regional partners and suppliers. Through Education services, Avnet will enable customer to have a better understanding of the emerging technologies - including big data, cloud, security, and converged and hyper-converged solutions, among others that are shaping today’s business. Avnet appointed Michael Costigan to lead the business concurrent to his function as regional vice president for Marketing and Business Innovation. 
 
Education Services will operate alongside Avnet’s next-generation technology SBUs namely, Data Center, Cloud, Security and Enterprise Networking, Cognitive Computing & Internet of Things, and Mobility. All six SBUs will be integral to providing robust offerings through transforming technology into business solutions for Avnet’s customers.
