Avnet now delivering the world’s most advanced converged
solutions to their Australian partner network

20 June, 2016 – SYDNEY – Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that it has signed an Australian distribution agreement with EMC Converged Platforms VCE, the world market leader in converged infrastructure and converged solutions. The solutions from EMC Converged Platforms VCE accelerate the adoption of converged infrastructure and cloud-based computing models that dramatically reduce the cost of IT while improving time to market for customers. This new partnership will provide Avnet with access to the entire EMC Converged Platforms VCE portfolio, which comprises the flagship Vblock product, as well as the VxBlock, VxRack, and the recently launched VxRail. The Vx Range includes VMware’s NSX software-defined offering.

EMC Converged Platform VCE’s market-leading portfolio is a strong addition to Avnet’s innovative solutions portfolio, enabling partners to accelerate their IT transformation and drive powerful business results. Avnet’s existing local experience across the entire VMware and EMC portfolios will ensure the team can successfully support partners in choosing the right technology to address their customers’ unique business challenges.

“At Avnet, we understand the sales and technical skills partners require to address their customers’ challenges with converged environments and cloud-based computing models,” said Darren Adams, vice president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, Australia and New Zealand. “The Avnet team will work closely with our partners to enable them to bring these converged solutions to market quickly and in line with each customer’s unique requirements. Through our in-house expertise and training programs we’ll enable our partners to target new and existing markets. We have also expanded our Powered by Avnet solution to include EMC’s converged platform in a customizable offering.”

Through Avnet’s robust training programs, partners will now be able to achieve the required EMC Business Partner Program accreditations. They will also gain the ability to take advantage of additional revenue-generating opportunities across core data centre technologies, including networking, security, storage, mobility and virtualisation.

“Our portfolio of solutions puts IT organisations on a path to eliminating complexity and collapsing cost structures with hyper-converged infrastructure. The recent addition of the VxRail Appliance completes our broad portfolio of Vblock, VxBlock and VxRack Systems to provide customers with a converged infrastructure that meets every workload from the edge to the core regardless of size,” said Andrew Foot, managing director, EMC Converged Platforms, Australia and New Zealand.
